Interweave: Co-housing in Pantai Dalam
Segregation: From the observation on the contemporary housing pattern, we found that the provided community facilities scattered individually throughout the context. In fact, the public life within it spread limitedly that it impose no impact on the community, the member of the community cannot have the sense of involvement. Besides, present housing pattern tends to keep different types of households segregated from each other. There are vast areas of different houses, this means that we have corresponding areas of single people, couples, and small families with children, segregated by type.
Individuality: To overcome the scenario of segregation, the individuality of building units have to be tackled. It is caused by the dominating vehicular path and invisible boundary existed within units and blocks.
Desegregation: Indeed, we need to diminish the primary boundary that leads to segregation and to review the common perception on current spatial consideration of housing, which eventually results in a holistic community in macro and even micro perspective.
Affordability: According to a study by Khazanah Research Institute on Malaysia Housing, houses in Kuala Lumpur is severely unaffordable. Therefore, affordability of houses is another issue that is needed to be tackled.
